Steve Forward - Solo Guitarist/Vocalist
With over 15 years experience as a professional working musician on the UK live circuit playing in various tribute, function and cover bands as well as extensive studio and session work both involving local and national radio and TV/satellite, Steve turned to being a solo artist playing live rock solo gigs across Essex and the UK.
In January 2007, Steve decided it was time to become the lead singer and guitarist, focusing on writing and performing original material as well as rock covers so he could learn his craft live. Singing lead vocals was, for Steve, a natural progression as a musician.
He left all his cover bands and changed to solely playing solo gigs. After a lot of research and hard work, and taking the advice and help from some great musicians, Steve stepped out in May 2007 as a fully prepared solo guitarist/vocalist.
Having played with bands all of his professional life, solo gigs were a complete revelation to Steve. The ability to entertain, play guitar and sing live, almost anywhere, with complete freedom over material, all by himself, and still get the crowds rockin' meant that this new direction was here to stay.
Steve is becoming well known throughout Essex for his solo rock guitar gigs, now finally getting noticed on the live circuit.

Steve is not only technically one of the best guitarist's around, but also has a great feel for the songs, playing straight from the soul. People regularly comment that Steve is the best guitarist they have ever heard.

Being booked over bands at plenty of venues in the Essex area there leaves little room for a band of his own at this time... Creating enough energy on stage with full backing from his laptop Steve has never been busier. He contiunes to pack out busy clubs, venues and theatres, as well as performing at numerous sucessful private and corporate functions. Building up a repertoire of some of the best rock and pop tracks from all eras, Steve is able to keep everyone entertained.
Session/Recording Work
Steve is also a session guitarist and has over the years been a part of a number of recordings that have made it onto TV and Radio. Steve is able to play music from most genres for that authentic feel, from Blues and Jazz through to Rock and Metal.
Original Material
His newly awaited original material will start to trickle out this year with plans for a rock and blues guitar album filled with imaginative and deep-felt guitar work and soulful yet hard-rocking vocals, it promises to be a wild ride for Steve for the next few years..
Guitar Lessons
Steve is also a renowned guitar tutor, having taught hundreds of guitarists from beginner to seasoned professional. All have gained from Steve's deep insight into what it takes to be a musician. He has learned from some of the best in the business and has studied and taught guitar styles ranging from Rock to Jazz giving him the edge over many musicians in todays current climate.
A firm believer in knowing your theory inside out, Steve has been responsible for helping many musicians go onto achieve their own musical goals, from being a working musician, to signing with touring bands and gaining degrees in music.
Steve is a member of the Registry of Guitar Tutors, and has taught at Colleges, Workshops and Universities over the years. He is an honours graduate of MI Londons Guitar Institute, as well as being a tutor there after graduating.

:: Classic Rock Solo Gigs ::
 Steve plays classic rock covers from the 60's to modern day, guitar instrumentals and his own tunes.
Using very high quality backing tracks, with live instruments as backing (NO MIDI) and a small but punchy PA system, Steve is able to play clubs, cocktail bars, restaurants, theatres, private functions, corporate events parties as well as regular band venues, all with a great live feel.
Venues who are worried about noise, take note! Steve can keep the volume appropriate to the venue, making sure you fully enjoy your evening.

:: Guitar Lessons ::
|
Steve is a registered member of the Registry of Guitar Tutors (RGT), with over 15 years teaching experience, having taught guitar at the M.I. London Guitar Institute in 1996 after passing the diploma course with Honours.
Steve has taught at schools, 6th form colleges and universities over the years. Holding a 4 year teaching position teaching A-level performance in London, as well as an evening lecturer in association with Hertfordshire university.
Steve continues to teach guitar privately and over the years has taught countless guitarists of all ages, styles and levels, many of whom have gone onto become full-time professional musicians.
