:: Amps & Rack Gear...
:: The Rack
:: I use a small but useful rack that I've built up along my travels.. heres a breakdown of the rack..
:: Marshall JMP-1 Pre-Amp - What can I say about this piece of gear.. I love it !! Its been used everyday on all gigs/sessions/recording, every day since 1997.. Marshall dont make these anymore ( boo-hoo what are you doing Marshall ??!! ) but you get some amazing sounds from this rack unit..
:: For more info on Steve's JMP-1 settings click HERE

:: Marshall JFX-1 - Another stonking piece of kit, and no longer made.. was made for the jmp-1 and works great.. been repaired a few times, its getting on a bit now, so I usually leave it at home and just take it out now and again..
|
:: Art Multiverb 2.0 SE - got this way back in 1993 and its mainly used for Delay/Chorus sounds in my live rig.. simple to use, has great sounds...
|
:: Marshall 8008 Power Amp - This is used for my solo gigs now providing power to the Treble speakers. Its a versatile piece of kit as Its also my back up if the Marshall head trips out on me..
|
:: Marshall Mk.II Master Volume [2203]
|
:: My Amps are Strictly Marshall Amplification..
:: Marshall JMP-1 Pre-amps and Vintage SLP100 mk2. ( 1970's ) Valve Heads..
:: When I lived in leyton, I came across this amp sitting in the corner of a music shop down the high street.. going for a real song it was..
:: I gave it to my mate Tony Parsons, and he cleaned it up for me... Got the thing Re-valved, took it up to Phil Well's a few times for a few Capacitor changes and what-not.. and it's been as reliable as ever..
:: It has had in the past, an extra 12AX7 stuck in it to get more gain, and various mods like effects loops.. but in 2003 I took it back to Marshall and had them remove all the mods I had done to it over the years, and it sounded ten times better...
:: The only modification thats been done to this, is by Marshall.. apparentley the only "mod" they do.. A power amp input for my JMP-1..
:: This is apparently the only modification Marshall do, well worth it, as it means I get to have a few different sounds and still keep a great tone..
:: The 2 Marshall Cabinets that I use are loaded with Celestion Vintage 30 Speakers in one and Celestion 'Greenbacks' 25 watt speakers in the other.. I have found the sound projects better using two cabs either side of the drumkit.
:: Another thing is, I Always run in MONO. Never Stereo. I just like it better.
:: I have always used Marshall amps live and in the studio, and simply will not budge..
:: I can get everything I need from my Marshalls..
