:: You name it I've played it..from Custom PRS guitars that I was scared to take out to gigs cos it looked so nice, to beat up strats that no matter how many times they got bashed around they never went out of tune.. Floyd rose disasters, pointy headstock nightmares.. tremelo woes.. I've been there and done it..
:: Everyone settles on a guitar after a while, and for me its the Fender strat.. but I still like playing the others.. Ive gotten a lovely Gibson SG of late and that plays really nice.. heres the pictures...
:: All the greats who play strats.. Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Dave Gilmour, Malmsteen.. they all play the same guitar.. yet they sound vastly different, In my opinion you sound like yourself with a strat, and If I was to recommend a guitar It would be a strat, No question...

:: I used to teach at this 6th form college for a few years, and when their department closed down, I saw this battered old strat body lying about..they graciously agreed to let me take it away and fix her.
:: A trip to warmouth and I purchased one of their Fender replacement necks, stuck in a Duncun Custom Custom at the bridge, and its now my favourite instrument to play with live..
:: It sounds great, It's my main workhorse guitar for dep. work and recording..
:: I've since had a Graphite nut put in and had it fret dressed... It has tons of character, and really does rock.
:: For 99% of my live and studio work I play Fender Stratocasters... Mainly because, in my opinion, they're the most versatile and best sounding guitar..

:: This guitar I happened across from an old friend of mine, when I lived in London.. it was and still is a lovely little machine..
:: I simply had to purchase it because I was in need of a good guitar at the time, when I moved to london in 1995..
:: It never lets me down, always stays in tune, sounds great, and is a really reliable instrument..
:: For about 5 years this was my MAIN guitar, I used it on everything, and it never once let me down.. thanks Mark!
:: The Floyd Rose is superb on this guitar, a proper Floyd, low profile, and it stays in tune really well.
:: It doesnt have a lot of character, has a very scooped sound, which works well with effects and clean sounds, and obviously metal tones..

:: This EVH signature guitar isnt made any more by Peavey as hes back with Kramer.. but nevertheless, its an awesome guitar..
:: I got this in 2003 and despite some minor adjustments again its a great workhorse.. It has a very smooth creamy sound, and most of 7even Bridges 2 Cross was recorded using this guitar..
:: It was my main guitar for about a year, a very good meaty sound..

|
:: This was purchased out of pure necessity for a band I was in.
:: It sounds good, has a nice balanced neck, as SG's are notorious for this, and generally keeps me happy..
:: It has a lovely sustain, you never need to work on this guitar, just oozes tone... its a nice Black colour (important!).very moody and dark.
:: I now use it sometimes on stage for Clapton/Cream songs, lovely smooth blues tone..
|
:: I also own an electro-acoustic for live work/session work - pics and breakdown coming soon...
