Saturday 13th March 2010 - Fighting fit and a great weekend of gigs..

Well them huge torpedo style anti-biotics done the trick, left me feelin wiped out, but got rid of any nasties finally, and spring is soon upon us, what a god awful winter that was !!

Just returned from my gig, and had a great one too... which reminds me, in 2007, May 26th, i played my first ever solo show, and on Saturday 20th March i will be playing my 200th solo gig.. i expect it will be a normal gig, and people will hopefully enjoy themselves, have a good time, and it will another gig under my belt.. but to me, it means something more, as im sure you will appreciate.. it hasnt been easy, but its certainly been worth it.. so excuse me whilst i give myself a big pat on the back... cheers everyone, and see you on the next 200 gigs!!!!

Saturday 6th March 2010 - More antibiotics, More gigs, The show must go on !

Well, ive been poked, prodded, and whatnot, chest x-rays, blood tests, still this cough persists, last night i got more anti-biotics from late night doctors surgery to finally try and kick this chest infection, these are huge pills, guess its now time to plough ahead and carry on, should be ok tonight, and the pills should kick in for next weeks onslaught at the white horse and cock tavern, i will try not to let anyone down !!!

now that im a singer on my solo gigs, as well as the guitarist, Im more aware of just how hard it is to keep yourself in check, and be consistently ok for doing shows.

onwards, i remain undefeated....

Saturday 20th Febraury - 2010 - Achoo!

Every year i swear ill not catch a cold or infection of some sort, and most years im ok, but this year has been particularly troublesome, however last week I ventured out to my gig in Bury St.Eds and i managed to get through it great.. which even surprised me.. so tonight, despite STILL not being able to shift this cough, i will be braving it outside again.. although for sure next week i will be hitting the doctors to try and get something to finally shift this ever lingering "hack-fest"

As ever, im beavering away in my little studio this afternoon making sure i have new material to play, and keeping my students happy ( well trying to !! ) with new songs to learn..

at some point, it would be nice to carry on using my gym membership!! so looking forward to that.. and get some darned new photos for the website and give it a bit of a spruce up..

To be honest ill be glad this month is out of the way.. Stay strong people, and as ever, keep rockin' !

Friday 5th Febraury - 2010 - Gigs, and updates...

Well, hello ... it seems this throat infection has lingered on a bit longer than usual.. never cancelling a gig unless absolutely necessary, and not creating a big fanfare if i do cancel gigs, i dont like to mention it too much, but this weekends gigs are going to have to be re-scheduled. many apologies to all of you in Norfolk that were looking forward(!) to seeing me play this weekend, i cannot apologise enough. i think, since 1992, this has been the 9th or 10th gig that ive ever cancelled.. its horrible when you cant talk properly, so theres no point in me trying to croak my tracks out on gigs.. it just doesnt benefit anyone, and makes my throat even worse...

Hope to be back on the road with you soon.. Keep Rockin' and stay healthy !!

Steve.

22nd January 2010 - Music and DVD section of website now updated!

The Website is going to be undergoing some changes this year. To start with Ive now upped 5 out of the 7 videos recorded in 2007 at Octagon Studios. This was at a time when I was just starting out as a solo musician. The videos are very raw sounding, but I have been getting many requests over the past year to post some back up.

The Website now has two "new" distinct sections, namely, Music and Videos. Obvious what they are, you can listen to and buy music on one, and watch and buy dvds on the latter. I've been wanting to make the website like this for ages, but never got round to it..

Hope you like the new vids, email me at steve AT steveforward DOT COM for more information on the DVDs and or/albums. All are available to purchase at the ALWAYS low price of five pounds.

Take Care, Keep Rockin' !

Steve

19th January 2010 - News for 2010.....

Hi All,

Welcome to a new section on steveforward.com, this is where you can keep up to date with all my latest information and thoughts, musings and information..

Presently, I am finishing off my Hendrix Tribute album, and Rock Classics 2 album, together with adding more tracks to my original album "Who We Are". This is taking up most of my time in between teaching students, and session work and solo gigs.

I'm currently sitting here with a "lovely" little throat infection courtesy of some muppet on saturday who thought it was wise to venture outside with a huge bronchial infection and splutter all over me.. presently on antibiotics trying to get better for this saturdays gig, so fingers crossed im ok.. once these tablets kick in, i should be well on the mend..

A few things have been ocurring over the last few months concerning gigs and venues that I'd also like to set the record straight on. Certain musicians have been claiming to venue owners that they know me and that I recommend them, when I do not. This puts my reputation on the line for recommending musicians that I have never seen or heard play live.

If you are phoned or contacted by anyone claiming that I recommend them or that they know me, which is the same thing in my opinion, then please ring me on 07849 278188 or email me at steve AT steveforward DOT COM -

Frankly, the only person I will ever recommend is my dear friend Mick West, who is a sublime musician indeed.

Incidentally, no other contact information is necessary other than my mobile phone number and email address. Should you receive any other "contact-me" details that are different from those, again call me immediately.

Its quite a strange level of behaviour, as I've always believed that if you are any good at what you do, the work will come to you, and people who HAVE seen you play will recommend you. There is a lot of average musicians out there, who just go through the motions when they play and sing, but in the end its up to you to decide.

Now excuse me, while I head on back to my pills, lotions, potions and medicines, and sink into some Assassins Creed 2.. Happy 2010 ! and I look forward (!) to seeing you out at one of my solo rock gigs real soon..
