■ FEEDBACK | COMMENTS
■ Here are just some of the comments received after doing private bookings, corporate events, weddings, biker meetups, rock events and many other functions as a solo performer over the years. I pride myself on liasing with the client/booker well in advance, going through everything they need/require on the night.
■ I've been doing this for 19 years as a solo musician, 2027 will be my 20th year! When booking me, it helps if you like guitar playing... A round peg in a round hole so to speak. If you love electric guitar playing from the 60s-00s, and my setlist fits the bill, all will go well!
■ "...Booked Steve twice now. Fantastic nights. The last one I decided to book Steve at my local pub ! And it was absolutely packed the whole village turned up everyone said it was the most amazing night..." - C. Blakesley, Diss, Norfolk.
■ "...I booked Steve for my 60th birthday and everyone was blown away by his performance and talked about it for weeks afterwards. It was like having Hendrix, Slash, Clapton and many legendary bands at my party and Steve does them all justice - he is a master of his trade. What a show! I cannot recommend him highly enough - if you love live music this is the man for you...." - D.Doyle, Brentwood, Essex.
■ "..I've had so many lovely letters and texts saying how much they enjoyed the party and everyone saying how much they loved the music and how amazing you were. It was a fabulous night and you made it perfect..." - R. Alston, Layer Marney, Essex.
■ Where can I book you to play?
Anywhere that is not outdoors. That is a no.1 rule for me. We are in the U.K, and the weather can turn so easily. Please, no flimsy marquees, or put up tents, unless they're super heavy duty industrial style ones, with a proper groundsheet will stop rain covering everything and everyone. It never ends well, and there have been many times where I've had to replace gear and end the night wiping down my gear from damp/moisture in the air. So as a rule, please book a hall, or suitable indoor space available. Thank You.
■ Can you come and play in my house?
Yes. I've done numerous house parties, and provided the house is big enough, and I have adequate space to setup, I'm more than happy to come and play for you. The last few private house parties were absolutely brilliant. I really like them, they're usually filled with lots of happy people celebrating a loved ones birthday or event/milestone.
■ How far do you travel?
I've played private corporate events in Europe, Cyprus, Corfu, and mainland Greece over the years. I've also played house parties a few streets away from where I live. If the fee is right and I'm looked after well, then I can promise you, I will make sure I give 100%. It's important for everyone to feel happy and be comfortable with a booking.
■ How long do you play for?
Depending on the evening, if it's going really well, I can play up until midnight. Normally playing times are either 2x45's, or 2x1hr slots. There are no hard and fast rules here, I'm there to help your party or event go well, and I'm always happy to play for longer. Get in touch and let's have a chat!
■ What time do you need to arrive and setup?
Generally speaking, if a gig is going to start around 9pm, then I would prefer to be at the venue around 6pm, so 3hrs before is usually best. If it's a new venue for me, and I'ts nearby, I like to check out the place before hand too so can navigate loading in with the equipment, and setting up.
I like to be ready to start at least an hour before showtime, so I can make sure everything is working.I mostly have a cut off point of around midnight to allow for travelling back/packing up times.
■ How much are you?
When costing up a private booking, I allow for petrol, travel times, setup times, and length of sets. I am reasonably priced.
I carry everything I need to entertain a crowd, full 3k PA system, and lights. If you have booked a very large hall or marquee, then I will require a PA hire company to help fill the room.
■ Can you provide background music before, in between and afterwards?
As I am a DJ too, I can offer combined packages of DJ'ing and live music sets. Please note that breakdown/pack up times are around 40mins-1hr so please allow for this at the end of the night. If you are wanting to book me solely for a DJ set, then please head to my DJ website here.
■ Can my friend sing/play using your PA? Is this possible?
Mostly, I say no to anyone using my equipment during a private booking. This is due to equipment insurance and PLI (Public Liability). This isn't a hard and fast rule however!
■ Do you do any Adele, or Daft Punk? What music do you play?
I play Classic Rock and Pop tracks from the 60's-00's, with a few modern instrumental twists thrown in. Please check my setlist.
I'm in my element at bike meets, biker weddings, biker festivals and people who want some rock at any event. But I've played weddings, corporate functions, village halls, basically anywhere that wants a party with the cover tracks I play. It's what I do best, and what I love the most, so if classic rock is your wheelhouse, then let's talk. 60's-00s
I don't consider myself to be a human jukebox. If you have a request and I know it, and more importantly if I have a track for it, then yes! sure no problem. Although I do play my own instrumental version of Lady GaGa/Bradley Cooper's, 'Shallow' so you never know.
■ Will there be a mic for me to use on the night?
Yes. I can provide a mic for you to talk and make speeches with, but these are not wireless.
■ What PA and how loud will you be?
I go for clarity, not massive volume. It helps if I'm positioned away from the main seating/dining areas, so people can listen when seated, but should they wish to dance or engage more, then can move to the live music area.
■ Main PA Setup:
3k (3,000 Watts) QSC RIG consisting of 2x QSC K8's, and 1x QSC K-sub (rarely needed or used). Extra 2x QSC K8's can be brought along.
■ Other Notes:
I can comfortably play to around 100-150 people in a medium sized room with this PA setup. Larger events of more than 200 people and I will require external PA hire.
Please bear this in mind when booking as on the night it's far better to have too much equipment and turn it down, than struggling to meet the dancefloor requirements. In my experience, small/medium sized rooms work best with my setup/show.
