■ ONE FLOYD | THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON TRIBUTE
■ REMAKING A CLASSIC ALBUM WAS NEVER GOING TO BE EASY | BUT I LIKE A CHALLENGE...
■ I started work on this album back in 2012, after completing the rock classics 2. Around this time I was already releasing my own original music, but was looking for a project that would stretch me. This was it.
■ I brought in Lucinda O'Connell for vocals on Great Gig In The Sky, Ian Thompson on sax, who played on Us and Them, Money, and also, Shine On You Crazy Diamond.
■ As a huge Pink Floyd fan, there were certain parts that I knew would be tricky, On The Run for example, the synth parts took much longer than expected.
■ I used the vocal spoken parts from my Immersion box set, but that's all. The alarm bells, heart beats, effects etc.. were all re-created.
■ I wasn't looking to lavishly re-create everything from the album, but rather learn from how it was made.
■ I thought it sounded pretty good at the time, but more importantly, it was my way of paying tribute to one of my all time favourite albums.
■ I still use these tracks to gig with, as well as my live streams. It was a lot of work, and whilst i'm fully aware the original will always sound better, I learned a great deal out of making this.
■ Update - Nov 2023 | Now you can watch my version on YouTube.
■ This was done back in 2015 using footage from the original concert screen projection, but mixed in with my own interpretations. Enjoy!
